Services

Over the years, I have worked with a number of clients to include those in individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. Current problems that I assist with include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Trauma (i.e. sexual, physical, or emotional abuse)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Panic Attacks
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Chronic Relational Struggles and Attachment Difficulties
  • Life Transitions
  • Grief
  • Codependency
  • Assertiveness Struggles
  • Spiritual Issues

My primary specialty area is helping traumatized individuals recover from both recent events (i.e. motor vehicle accident or natural disaster) and historical situations (i.e. childhood abuse and neglect). Many of those whom I treat have come to realize that they did not have their emotional needs met in childhood. Via use of the therapeutic relationship and evidence-based interventions, including EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), they are largely able to heal from those attachment wounds and move forward with greater confidence and freedom.

Other areas of special interest include anxiety-related issues and spiritual concerns. Please know that although I accept referrals from clients who hold a variety of worldviews and beliefs, I come from a Christian perspective. With the consent of my Christian clients, I integrative this faith with psychological principals when warranted.
